A Festival of Encounter in the Old Town
The Altstadtfest Langenzenn is one of the highlights in the event calendar of this Middle Franconian town in the district of Fürth. On the second Saturday in September, Prinzregentenplatz, Martin-Luther-Platz, Rosenstraße, and parts of Friedrich-Ebert- and Hindenburgstraße are transformed into a single promenade.
Supported by the Clubs
The festival thrives on volunteer engagement: every year, around 50 clubs participate, predominantly from Langenzenn, who run the stalls and small stands. Food, drinks, and conviviality are the focus – the Altstadtfest rightly deserves its reputation as a "Festival of Encounter and Tradition".
Music, Bakehouse, and House Beer
Music is provided on two stages, and street musicians wander through the alleys. The Hans-Sachs-Spieler open their unique historic bakehouse, and "Lama Bräu" brews its own beer in the old dairy. Dancing takes place on the "Alte B 8" in front of the Old Town Hall or in the specially erected beer garden in the car park on Rosenstraße.
Historic Setting
Langenzenn is characterized by the former Augustinian Canons' Monastery and its well-preserved old town on the Castle Road. Against this historic backdrop, the Altstadtfest unfolds its special charm – a day when the whole town comes together.
