Run where the water flows

The Aller, the river that gives the region its name, meanders through the fertile Magdeburger Börde before flowing west into Lower Saxony. Eilsleben (Börde district, Saxony-Anhalt) is located directly on the upper reaches of the river, and it is here that the Allertal Run starts – at the Alte Pumpstation from the late 19th century, which now serves as a venue by the water tower.

An event by the municipality

The Allertal Run is organized by the municipality of Eilsleben in cooperation with local sports and heritage clubs. The event is designed as a fun run with various distances for amateur runners, club athletes, and families. The start and finish are at the Alte Pumpstation; the routes run along the Aller meadows and the village boundaries.

The Aller meadows — Nature's backdrop for sport

The Aller meadows are a traditional floodplain landscape along the river's course. In spring and summer, one of the most beautiful natural backdrops in the Börde, and in autumn, a breeding ground for meadow birds. Those who run the Allertal Run experience rural Saxony-Anhalt at its finest: vast fields, old oaks, the gently flowing river.

Eilsleben — A market town on the western edge of the Börde

The municipality of Eilsleben is located in the Börde district on the western edge of the Magdeburger Börde, one of Europe's most productive agricultural regions. After the incorporation of surrounding villages (Ovelgünne, Klein Wanzleben-Vorwerke), the town has developed into a sprawling municipality. The historic pump station by the water tower – from the 1870s – is now one of the most exciting industrial monuments in the region.
