The Abendmarkt Wasserburg am Bodensee takes place from May to October on a fixed Friday of the month on the central Lindenplatz. Wasserburg is one of the few true peninsulas on Lake Constance and is located in the Lindau district, in the southernmost part of Bavaria. The Lindenplatz, with its parish church, town hall, and old linden trees, forms the natural stage for the market – with views of Lake Constance and Mediterranean vegetation.

The focus is on the direct marketers from Wasserburg and Lindau: fruit farmers from the Lake Constance region with apples, pears, berries, and stone fruit; vegetable growers; beekeepers with honey; fishermen with freshly caught Lake Constance whitefish, perch, and char; and vintners with Lake Constance wines from neighboring Nonnenhorn and Lindau. Distilleries offer brandies made from regional fruits, supplemented by cheese from the Allgäu and culinary specialties of the region.
Atmosphere and Music
The Abendmarkt is intended as a relaxed meeting point for locals, Lake Constance holidaymakers, and day-trippers from Lindau, Friedrichshafen, and Wangen. When the weather is good, live music plays in the square, and guests enjoy a glass of wine, some whitefish rolls, or local cheese with a view of Lake Constance. The market takes place in all weather conditions – only the music program depends on the weather.
Wasserburg as a Summer Destination
Wasserburg is one of the most beautiful places on the Bavarian side of Lake Constance. The small peninsula with its historic castle complex, lido, and quiet harbor basin is a summer destination between Lindau and Nonnenhorn. The Abendmarkt is integrated into a rich event calendar with a flea market, an Advent market on Lindenplatz, and concerts by the lake. The event is organized by the Tourist Information office of the municipality of Wasserburg in cooperation with the direct marketers.
No Admission Fee, No Registration Required
Admission is free, and no registration is necessary. Families are particularly welcome – the child-friendly atmosphere and the short distances on the peninsula make the Abendmarkt a relaxed program item for a day of your Lake Constance holiday.
Abendmarkt Wasserburg — edition 2026
The Abendmarkt 2026 in Wasserburg am Bodensee will open its stalls on Lindenplatz on six dates between May and October. The confirmed Fridays are May 8, June 5, July 10, August 7, September 4, and October 2, 2026, each from 5 PM to 9 PM. The central Lindenplatz in the heart of Wasserburg will once again be the venue.
At the stalls, local fishermen from Lake Constance will sell freshly caught whitefish, perch, and char; fruit farmers will offer apples and berries; beekeepers will sell honey; and vegetable growers will provide asparagus, vegetables, and salads. Vintners from Lake Constance will pour dry and semi-sweet wines, and distilleries will offer brandies made from regional fruits. Culinary stalls will serve small dishes for the evening – ideal for lingering on Lindenplatz with a view of Lake Constance.
The market takes place in all weather conditions; the music accompaniment is weather-dependent. Free admission, no registration required, family-friendly. The organizer is the Tourist Information office of the municipality of Wasserburg (Bodensee).

Getting There
By train to Lindau Hauptbahnhof, then take a bus or the Lake Constance S-Bahn to Wasserburg. By car, take the A96 (exit Lindau), B 31, or B 308 towards Wasserburg. Parking is available on the outskirts of town; Lindenplatz itself is a pedestrian zone.

Admission to the Abendmarkt is free; consumption at the stalls is paid for individually.

17:00–21:00 on the first Friday of the month (exceptions: second Friday in May and July).
