Baden-Württemberg's largest amateur music festival in Sinsheim
The Landes-Musik-Festival is the major event for amateur music in Baden-Württemberg: On a Saturday in June, around 130 music associations, choirs, big bands, and ensembles from across the state gather in a host city — in 2026, it's Sinsheim. Over 3,700 musicians will perform simultaneously on 10 stages in the city center, filling squares, parks, churches, and halls. The event is organized by the Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände (BDB) in cooperation with the City of Sinsheim.
The musical spectrum is vast: classical brass music (march music, brass classics), symphonic brass music, big bands and jazz combos, choirs (mixed, male, female, chamber choirs), accordion orchestras, string and plucked ensembles, pipe bands, and fanfares. Styles range from traditional folk music to classical, jazz, and modern pop and rock arrangements. Highlights include performances by the Landesblasorchester Baden-Württemberg and the Rhein-Neckar-Jugendorchester.
In 2026, the festival has a thematic focus: "Music Does Good" — the healing effect of music on body and mind. A symposium, workshops, and interactive stations on music and health invite engagement with topics such as music therapy, stress reduction through making music, or singing for health. This distinguishes the event from purely concert performances — it is simultaneously a Volksfest (folk festival), a stage, and an educational event.
Sinsheim, with just under 36,000 inhabitants, is located in the northern Kraichgau region of the Rhein-Neckar district. The city is primarily known for the Sinsheim Auto & Technik Museum and the PreZero Arena (stadium of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim). With the 2026 festival, Sinsheim will become the cultural center of Baden-Württemberg for a day. Its connectivity via the A6 motorway and train lines (Stuttgart–Mannheim) makes the city accessible from all regions.
One day, one city center, 130 ensembles. Starting at 10:00 AM, performances will begin on the 10 stages in Sinsheim. The stages are spread throughout the city center — Marktplatz, Festplatz, churches, halls — and feature rotating ensembles every 30 minutes.
The evening will conclude with the grand ensembles: the Landesblasorchester Baden-Württemberg and the Rhein-Neckar-Jugendorchester. Throughout the day: symposium and interactive stations on the theme "Music Does Good," family area hosted by the Landesmusikjugend.
