A highlight to kick off the summer break

The abend.licht holds a special place in Haßfurt's event calendar: it's the event with which the cultural office concludes its spring program and bids farewell to the summer break. For three consecutive evenings in June, the market square in the heart of the old town becomes a stage – every evening from 8 p.m., with free admission for everyone.

The market square as a stage

Haßfurt's market square, with its historic facades and town hall, is bathed in colorful light for three days – hence the name abend.licht. Instead of a large commercial festival, the town focuses on an intimate, atmospheric mood: bands that mostly play their own music, an audience from the entire region, and a relaxed summer evening atmosphere.

Music for all generations

The program changes from year to year but follows a proven pattern: a colorful mix of dialect pop, rock, blues, Austropop, and "Wirtschaftswunder" Schlager from the 1950s and 60s. The organizers emphasize that there are highlights for every age group and musical taste – from young audiences to lovers of nostalgic Schlager sounds.

Food trucks and regional specialties

Culinary delights at abend.licht are provided by food trucks offering regional specialties, accompanied by beer from the local brewery Weintal and other drinks. The combination of live music, good food, and the historic market square backdrop makes abend.licht a must-attend event in the Haßfurt summer.

Haßfurt in the Haßberge Nature Park

Haßfurt is the district town of Haßberge in Lower Franconia, picturesquely located on the Main River and the gateway to the Haßberge Nature Park.
