Motorsport on the Hill in Erftal

The Eichenbühl Hill Climb is one of the most traditional automobile hill climbs in Germany. In Eichenbühl, Lower Franconia, in the Miltenberg district (Bavaria), the Motorsportclub Erftal e.V. hosts the race, which will celebrate its 57th edition in 2026. It is a round of the German Automobile Hill Climb Championship and thus a date of supra-regional importance in the German motorsport calendar.

Over 200 Cars at the Start

The "In den Rittern" hillclimb course demands everything from drivers and machines alike. Over 200 racing cars will take to the start, covering an impressive spectrum: from classic NSU models, near-production Porsche 911s, and powerful touring cars to purebred racing vehicles such as Formula 3000 or Group C racers. This diversity is unique for motorsport fans.

Race Schedule

Traditionally, training takes place on Saturday, before the championship races for the German Automobile Hill Climb Championship are held on Sunday. Spectators can follow the racing action up close along the track – combined with festival tent events and catering, the hill climb becomes a Volksfest (public festival) for the entire region.

Atmosphere

Roaring engines, the smell of racing fuel, and the tension of each individual run: The Eichenbühl Hill Climb combines sporting fascination with village festival culture. It attracts visitors from near and far and has been a firm fixture in the Lower Franconian motorsport scene for decades.
