A Century of TSV Football
The football department of TSV Münnerstadt was founded in 1926 – a club in the small Lower Franconian town in the Bad Kissingen district, which, with its medieval town walls and towers, is one of the most beautiful old town ensembles in the Rhön region. One hundred years later, in the anniversary year 2026, generations of players, coaches, and supporters look back on a century of club football in the countryside.
Two Highlights: Legends Tournament and Gala
The anniversary year kicks off on January 17, 2026, with an indoor tournament for TSV legends – a reunion of former players from various generations. The actual celebration is the Anniversary Gala on April 24, 2026: an evening event with a historical review, numerous anecdotes, and prominent guests. Franconian cabaret artist Fredi Breunig provides the humor, and Christian Wück, coach of the German women's national football team and a close acquaintance of the club, is the guest of honor.
Year-Round Program and Club Life
In addition to the two main events, the entire year 2026 will be celebrated as a festive year: special matches, family celebrations, exhibitions on club history, games with partner clubs, and a concluding summer festival are part of the program. Münnerstadt – Walls, Towers, Football
Münnerstadt has around 7,500 inhabitants and is located in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen, about an hour's drive from Würzburg. The medieval old town with its almost completely preserved city wall is one of the best-preserved townscapes in Franconia. With its football, gymnastics, and other departments, TSV Münnerstadt is one of the most important clubs in the town and shapes social life beyond pure sports activities.
100 Years TSV Football — edition 2026
The focus of the festive year is the club community – players from different generations, families of former active members, fans, and the coaching staff come together throughout the year in various formats.
The Legends Tournament on January 17, 2026, brings veterans from earlier teams back to the indoor court – an emotional start. At the gala on April 24, 2026, in the Münnerstadt town hall, the past will be revisited: 100 years of anecdotes, promotions, and relegations, influential personalities, and memories will be shared.

Münnerstadt is located on the A71 (Bad Kissingen / Münnerstadt exit), about 90 km north of Würzburg. It is directly accessible by train (Schweinfurt–Meiningen line).
