Three Days of Music and Markets in the Old Town

The Stadtfest „Musik und Märkte“ is Münnerstadt's largest summer festival and, at the same time, proof of how versatile a medium-sized Lower Franconian town can be. From Friday evening to Sunday evening, the old town uses its most important squares for three days: Anger, Stenayer Platz, and Schloss. Bands from Franconia perform on several live stages, and the Kapitelsmarkt and flea markets also take place.

KinderStadtfest, Kapitelsmarkt, and Schlossbeats

The town festival has a clear family focus. With the KinderStadtfest, a dedicated area for children is set up, offering hands-on activities, games, and programs for the younger generation. The Kapitelsmarkt features regional vendors, artisans, and food producers. In the evenings, the program shifts: at the castle, Schlossbeats provides a slightly younger, urban vibe with DJ sets and lounge areas right in the middle of the historic town.

Münnerstadt – A Small Town with a Historic Core

Münnerstadt is located in the Bad Kissingen district in Lower Franconia and is one of Bavaria's most significant medieval town layouts. The old town, with its town walls, gate towers, and large Anger (village green), offers an extraordinary backdrop for the town festival. The „Musik und Märkte“ format consciously utilizes this setting – the stages are spread across three central squares, making the entire city center the festival area.
