Events and festivals in Bremen on the weekend of September 19-20, 2026: Constructor University marks 25 years with an anniversary gala, while Maritime Week wraps up at the Schlachte.
Former students return from across the world. Homecoming at Constructor University begins on September 18, 2026 on Campus Ring in Bremen-Grohn.
The anniversary gala at Constructor University
The Homecoming at Constructor University is the annual reunion of the international university in the Bremen district of Grohn. Three days of reunion. From September 18 to 20, 2026, alumni of every class and degree programme return to Campus Ring.
2026 lines up with a milestone date. Constructor University turns 25 this year, and the Homecoming forms the high point of a year-long anniversary programme at the university.
A festive anniversary gala sits at the centre of the weekend, at Campus Ring 1 in Bremen. Alumni of the university gather there on September 19 and 20, 2026, before the celebration winds down on Sunday.
The rest of the weekend
The Maritime Week Bremen celebrates the Hanseatic city's maritime identity every year. It reaches its final two days at the Schlachte at the same time. Over ten days, it has turned the riverside promenade on the Weser into a hub for shipping, marine science, port technology and maritime culture.
In Bremen-Neustadt, the Irgendwo-Festival runs on in parallel. A self-organised summer festival by the Kulturbeutel e.V. association, on roughly 5,000 square metres of open ground on Amelie-Beese-Straße, between the OHB space centre and the airport, where around 100 volunteers carry a programme of concerts, open-air cinema, theatre, readings, yoga and DJ workshops.
The Irgendwo-Festival keeps its gates open there until September 30, 2026.
