Alumni Weekend and Anniversary Gala for the 25th Anniversary in Bremen-Grohn
What began in 2001 on the grounds of a former barracks in Bremen-Grohn is now an international university with students and alumni from all over the world. In 2026, Constructor University celebrates its 25th anniversary — and the Homecoming weekend forms the centerpiece of a year-long anniversary program.
For three days, alumni from all years and degree programs return to campus. The program includes reunion meetings, an alumni section with new signage, a historical exhibition on the quarter-century, an anniversary book, and a documentary on the university's history. The reunion classes of 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021 are particularly in focus.
The highlight is a festive gala on September 19, 2026, the official date of the 25th anniversary. On campus, you can expect music, speeches, and invited guests — a celebratory evening that honors the university's development from a former barracks to an international educational hub.
The campus is located in Grohn in the north of Bremen, a district with a long military history. The transformation of the barracks site into an international university campus is one of the most striking transformation stories in the region. The anniversary makes this history visible and celebrates a quarter-century of international education in the Hanseatic city.
For the 2026 edition, Homecoming begins on Friday, September 18, at 12:00 PM and runs through the weekend until Sunday, September 20, on the campus in Bremen-Grohn. Alumni from all years return; the reunion classes of 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021 will be particularly celebrated. The central program point is the festive anniversary gala on Saturday, September 19, 2026, the official 25th founding date, with music, speeches, and invited guests. The weekend is embedded in a year-long anniversary program: a curated historical exhibition and campus archive (developed with historian PD Dr. Rüdiger Ritter), a 25 Years anniversary book, an evening-length campus documentary, as well as updated alumni signage on the Alumni Brick Path and a dedicated alumni section in the Community Hall.
Full program details, including registration, tickets, and the minute-by-minute schedule of the gala (speakers and music program), will be announced by Constructor University in the months leading up to the event via the official anniversary page (constructor.university/lp/homecoming-2026).
Constructor University's campus is located at Campus Ring 1, 28759 Bremen, in the Grohn district (Bremen-Nord) and is accessible by the Regio-S-Bahn and buses.
The Homecoming is primarily aimed at alumni of all years; the anniversary gala is an invited festive program with distinguished guests. Registration and ticket details will be announced by the university.
