About Summer Island Open Air
Summer Island Open Air — edition 2026
Eighth Edition with Premiere Headliner
The Summer Island Open Air 2026 marks the eighth edition since its premiere in 2016. Symbolically, Gestört Aber GeiL returns as headliner — the duo that also performed at the festival's premiere ten years ago on the Schlossinsel. Back then, they were emerging newcomers to the German electronic scene; today, they are established hitmakers. A connection that few festivals can stage so impressively.
The party starts at 6:00 PM. The mix of daylight open-air hours, sunset on the Schlossinsel, and a nighttime dance floor under the trees is the festival's hallmark.

Dancing on the Schlossinsel in the Spreewald
Few open-air locations in Brandenburg are as spectacular as the Schlossinsel Lübben: an island surrounded by the waters of the Spree in the middle of the old town, with the baroque castle as a backdrop, tall old trees, and an unobstructed view of the evening sky over the Spreewald. On June 6, 2026, this very spot will become the stage for the eighth Summer Island Open Air — a festival for electronic dance music that has become a firm fixture in Brandenburg's summer calendar since its premiere in 2016.
Gestört Aber GeiL Returns
The headliner for 2026 is Gestört Aber GeiL — the duo from Hamburg who have conquered the charts with hits like „Ich & Du“, „Wenn Du Mich Liebst“, and „Unter Meiner Haut“. Particularly symbolic: Gestört Aber GeiL also played at the premiere of the Summer Island Open Air in 2016. Ten years after that first performance, the circle closes — with the same artists, a significantly grown festival, and an audience that helped the then newcomers become one of the most popular acts in the German dance scene.
Lineup — Melodic Techno and VocalTekkno
In addition to the headliner duo, three other acts will be on stage: Kaacee (aka Komacasper), a DJ and producer from the Berlin underground known for melodic Tech-House. Thomas Lizzara, one of Germany's best-known Schlager remixers and DJs, whose relaxed open-air style has become a hallmark of the festival. RYSANN, a rising voice in Melodic Techno with smooth vocals and danceable beats. The show is presented by Nachtflug Events & BB RADIO — the combination of promoter and radio partner ensures intensive promotion throughout Brandenburg.
Atmosphere, Dress Code, Travel
Open-air on the Schlossinsel means: bring your summer look, sturdy footwear (dancing on gravel and grass), and good vibes. The festival starts at 6 PM, intentionally early, so the first beats are played in daylight and the atmosphere slowly builds through the sunset hours. It gets busy and intense from midnight until around 2 AM. Tickets are available from €35.75 in advance — a box office might be available, but will be more expensive and without guaranteed entry if the festival sells out.
Lübben and the Spreewald
Lübben, with a population of just over 14,000, is the district seat of Dahme-Spreewald and the administrative center of Niederlausitzer Spreewald. It serves as the gateway to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Spreewald. The labyrinthine waterways of the Spree with its canals and islands, the typical thatched-roof houses of the Sorbian minority, and the floating tradition of punt boat tours make the Spreewald one of Germany's most extraordinary landscapes. Those who combine the Summer Island Open Air with a Spreewald weekend can glide through the canals by punt boat on Sunday and let the festival pulse slowly fade away.
