Three days of music, light, and art on the Zukunftsschloss Gadebusch museum grounds
The zusch festival is a cultural and creative festival, a music festival, and a space for encounter all at once. It is organized by the cultural initiative kultursegel on the grounds of the Zukunftsschloss Gadebusch museum in northwestern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. 2026 marks the fourth edition – the festival is young, but has already established itself in the region's cultural landscape as an important venue for creative encounters.
The Zukunftsschloss Gadebusch is a museum complex in the town center of Gadebusch, a small town of around 6,000 inhabitants on the border with Schleswig-Holstein. The festival area is manageable, which distinguishes the event from anonymous large festivals. The name »Zukunftsschloss« (Future Castle) reflects the idea of programmatically opening a historic building to the present and future.
Over three days, the festival combines live concerts, participatory concerts, DJ sets, theater, dance, light art, and workshops. The festival landscape is intentionally cross-genre: Indie, folk, world music, and sound art meet experimental electronics, performance, and visual arts.
The zusch festival is part of the federally funded project Aller.Land – »Grenzenlos – Giving the Future a Stage!«. It thus plays a dual role: an artistic event and a model project for the cultural revitalization of small towns in rural areas.
Gadebusch is located in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, on the border with Schleswig-Holstein and not far from the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. The small town has been striving to establish its cultural profile for years – the zusch festival is one of the most significant results of this work.
The 4th edition of the zusch festival runs from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13, 2026, on the grounds of the Zukunftsschloss Gadebusch museum.
For three days, the grounds will transform into a vibrant festival landscape with pulsating music, fascinating light, and wonderful encounters. Live concerts, participatory concerts, DJ sets, theater, dance, and light art will meet, complemented by workshops and formats for interaction.
The festival is part of the federally funded Aller.Land project »Grenzenlos – Giving the Future a Stage!«. It is organized by the cultural initiative kultursegel in collaboration with the city of Gadebusch and the Zukunftsschloss team. The detailed program, headliners, and tickets will be successively published on zusch-festival.de and the Zukunftsschloss festival page.
