Second Edition in the Kehdinger Marshland

Following the successful premiere in 2025, the Kehdinger Kulturfestwochen will hold its second edition in 2026. The festival weeks aim to be a cultural intensification of the marshland between Stade and Cuxhaven – a landscape that offers special cultural potential with its dikes, Elbe views, and baroque brick churches. The organizer is Kehdinger Kultur, a regional association of cultural creators, associations, and municipalities.

Three Weeks, Many Venues

Over three weeks, the events will be spread across numerous venues: the Kulturscheune Drochtersen (opening), the Kornspeicher Freiburg/Elbe (closing), village churches, farmhouses, galleries, and public spaces in the towns of the Nordkehdingen municipality. The concept of a decentralized festival turns the entire region into a stage, combining cultural with landscape experience.

Concerts, Readings, Exhibitions, Bike Tours, Workshops

The program spectrum is deliberately broad: concerts from classical, jazz, folk, and singer-songwriter traditions; literary readings with regional and national authors; visual arts in exhibitions and vernissages; guided bike and hiking tours through the marshland; workshops for creative adults. The festival is open to different interests and is aimed at locals as well as guests.

Children's Cultural Week as a Premiere

A new feature of the 2026 edition is the first-time Children's Cultural Week. During a dedicated festival week, events for children and families will be the focus: hands-on workshops, theater, concerts for young audiences, writing workshops, and nature education. The format responds to the organizers' desire to involve a younger audience more strongly and to establish cultural mediation early on.
