About ZIRKULUM
ZIRKULUM — edition 2026
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, Greifswald's city center will transform into a continuous street stage between 11 AM and 4 PM. ZIRKULUM invites you to its fifth edition since its launch in 2022.
At several locations along the shopping street — from Lange Straße to the Market Square and Fischmarkt — national and international acrobats, jugglers, magicians, and variety artists will showcase their talents. Each performance typically lasts 20 to 40 minutes and is repeated several times a day, allowing visitors to move between locations.

Street Art Amidst Brick Gothic
ZIRKULUM is a relatively new festival in Greifswald's summer season: first held in 2022, it has established itself as a fixture in the city's annual calendar within a few years. Greifswald Marketing GmbH curates the program each July, inviting acrobats, jugglers, magicians, and variety artists to the city center.
Multiple Locations, One Continuous Program
Unlike a central stage festival, ZIRKULUM is spread across several squares and locations along Greifswald's shopping street — from Lange Straße to the Market Square and Fischmarkt. Performances run at each location between 11 AM and 4 PM, allowing visitors to experience multiple genres during a city stroll.
National and International Artists
The program deliberately focuses on diversity: solo juggling artists, hand-to-hand and stilt acrobatics duos, magicians performing close-up magic, fire artists in small performances, mime troupes, and cabaret acts. Performances typically last 20 to 40 minutes and are repeated several times a day.
Local Context
Greifswald is part of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With ZIRKULUM, the Hanseatic city complements an already dense summer festival program — alongside the Greifswalder Bachwoche, Eldenaer Jazz Evenings, Sommertheater Eldena, and Fischerfest Gaffelrigg, there's a format for every taste.
