The Lindau Market is one of the oldest and most popular events in the town of Lindau (Lake Constance) in the district of the same name (State of Bavaria, administrative region of Swabia). While many German towns hold their market in spring or summer, Lindau sticks to its traditional date in November. The venue is the historic Lindau Island in the middle of Lake Constance.

The colorful mix of folk festival, amusement park, and flea market is populated by around 140 merchants and 60 showmen, as well as thousands of visitors. The stalls line the pedestrian zone up to the churches on the market square, while the rides are concentrated along the harbor promenade.

The Lindau Market dates back to the mid-17th century and originally took place twice a year – in spring and autumn. It was an important trading post where merchants brought coveted and rare goods to the island. To this day, the autumn market has been preserved as a bustling, vibrant island festival.

From November 6th to 10th, 2026, around 140 merchants and 60 showmen will populate Lindau Island. The stalls will line the pedestrian zone up to the churches on the market square, while the rides will be arranged along the harbor promenade. The highlight is a romantic ride on the Ferris wheel with a view of the Bavarian Lion and the lighthouse, plus dodgems and traditional amusements like ball throwing, bowling, and string pulling. On Sunday, November 8th, 2026, Sunday opening hours from 12 PM to 5 PM will invite you to stroll on the island and the mainland.
