About Youth Culture Days
Youth Culture Days — edition 2026
35th Youth Culture Days — March 7 to 29, 2026
For over three weeks, the 2026 Youth Culture Days transform the Dingolfing-Landau district into a stage for young cultural creators. The kickoff is on Saturday, March 7, 2026, starting at 7:30 PM in the Stadthalle Dingolfing. The opening gala presents ten contributions — from classical to modern, jazz, and rock — created by over 80 participants aged 12 to 27.
In the following weeks, the program travels throughout the district: jazz, choir, and orchestra concerts in the Stadthalle Landau, a rock concert at the Eventlokal im Bahnhof Landau, theater performances by various school and club groups, and an exhibition featuring works by young visual artists. The two dance evenings on March 20 and 21 in the Stadthalle Dingolfing will bring 27 dance groups and around 400 dancers to the stage.

35 Years of Youth Culture in Lower Bavaria
The Youth Culture Days of the Dingolfing-Landau district are among the oldest and most renowned festivals for youth cultural promotion in Lower Bavaria. Since 1991, the municipal youth services of the district administration have organized a three-week program annually, offering a professional stage for concerts, dance, theater, and visual arts by the young generation. In 2026, the series celebrates its 35th edition — from March 7 to 29.
Program 2026 — from Classical Concert to Rock Stage
The 2026 program is classically broad. The opening on Saturday, March 7, starting at 7:30 PM in the Stadthalle Dingolfing, will showcase ten contributions from around 80 participants — ranging from classical to modern, jazz, and rock. In the following three weeks, there will be a jazz, choir, and orchestra concert in the Stadthalle Landau, a rock concert at the Eventlokal im Bahnhof Landau, theater performances, and dance evenings. The highlight will be the dance evenings on March 20 and 21 in the Stadthalle Dingolfing, featuring 27 different dance groups and nearly 400 dancers.
Support for Young Talents from Across the District
The Youth Culture Days serve as a platform for young talents from all municipalities in the Dingolfing-Landau district — from Gottfrieding to Dingolfing, Landau an der Isar, Eichendorf, Niederviehbach, and Pilsting. Bands, dance schools, choirs, orchestras, theater groups, and visual artists apply for inclusion in the program; the selection is made by the municipal youth services in cooperation with local cultural creators. The registration deadline for the 2026 edition was February 6, 2026.
Lower Bavaria and the Cultural Profile of the District
The Dingolfing-Landau district in the administrative region of Lower Bavaria, state of Bavaria, has around 100,000 inhabitants. The region is primarily known as an industrial location (BMW Dingolfing — one of the group's largest plants) and as an agricultural lowland on the Isar River. The Youth Culture Days are the most important cultural link, programmatically connecting the smaller municipalities like Gottfrieding with the two district capitals, Dingolfing and Landau, for three and a half weeks.
