Official Qualifier of the global World of Dance Tour at Columbiahalle Berlin-Kreuzberg
Founded in California in 2008, World of Dance is now considered one of the most influential platforms for urban dance culture worldwide. Tour stops in North America, Europe, and Asia bring together thousands of crews and solo dancers annually from Hip-Hop, Krump, Locking, Popping, House, and Urban Choreography. The winners qualify for the World of Dance World Finals in Los Angeles. The TV show World of Dance on NBC (2017–2020 with Jennifer Lopez as headliner judge) made the format known worldwide.
World of Dance Germany is the official licensee for the German-speaking stops and organizes competitions in several German cities. The Berlin edition will take place again in 2026 at the Columbiahalle in Kreuzberg – a traditional concert and event venue on Columbiadamm directly at Tempelhofer Feld, offering enough space for the stage, competition floor, backstage areas, and spectator area with around 3,500 standing places.
The competition day is divided into two blocks: The morning block (Doors open in the morning, Showtime from 12 PM) includes the younger and smaller formats – Mini Team (4–7 years), Junior (8–13 years), small choreography crews, Hip-Hop, and Urban Choreography divisions. The evening block (Doors open in the afternoon, Showtime from 4 PM) features the larger formats: Team Division, Mega Team Division with up to 30 dancers, Showcases, and Specials. Each crew or solo performance has a two- to three-minute slot; an international jury judges according to fixed WOD criteria (Performance, Cleanliness, Choreography, Creativity, Musicality, Execution). The official competition platform measures 12 by 8 meters.
The top finishers in each division qualify for the World of Dance World Finals in Los Angeles. Tickets are sold separately by block: a day ticket for dancers and their support crew, separate spectator tickets for morning and evening sessions. Companions under 16 years of age require an adult ID.
The 2026 Berlin edition brings together the strongest German street dance crews once again. The Columbiahalle transforms into a competition arena for a day: a raised stage, a lit 12 by 8 meter competition floor, a jury panel at the side, and spectator seating around the floor.
Those who stay all day will witness the journey from the youngest dancers aged four and up to the Mega Teams with thirty performers – a cross-section of the German Hip-Hop and Urban dance scene. The atmosphere is raw and community-driven: loud sound systems, family cheers, and hands-in-the-air reactions to particularly clean moves.
