Berlin gets a Grey Scale Weekend
The Grey Scale Festival has established itself in recent years as one of the most important post-punk, dark wave, and EBM festivals in German-speaking countries – previously in Munich. In 2026, the festival expands its radius to a double weekend: on June 12 in Munich's Muffathalle, and on June 13 in Berlin's Columbiahalle. It is the first Berlin edition.
Six Acts, One Night in Tempelhof
The Columbiahalle on Columbiadamm – a historic cinema, later a concert hall for the US armed forces – is today one of Berlin's most established mid-sized venues for alternative and indie acts. On June 13, 2026, it will become the stage for six international acts from the dark electronic and post-punk scene:
- Ic3peak (RU/Berlin) – the Russian duo Anastasia Kreslina and Nikolay Kostylev, who live in Berlin for political reasons. Architects of electronic darkness, whose last Berlin show is announced before a hiatus.
- TR/ST (CA) – the synthwave/darkwave project by Robert Alfons from Toronto.
- Curses (USA/Berlin) – Luca Venezia, a New Wave/post-punk producer and performer living in Berlin, here in a rare live set.
- Aigel – electronic hip-hop duo that, according to the festival, oscillates "between tenderness and power".
- Qual – solo project by William Maybelline from Lebanon Hanover.
- Karin Park (NO/SE) – Norwegian-Swedish singer and composer of dark electronics.
A Night Between Post-Punk, Industrial, and Dark Wave
The festival sees itself not as a pure goth event, but as a curated crossover between industrial, EBM, New Wave, post-punk, and electronic hip-hop. The acts will play one after another on the large stage of the Columbiahalle, with DJ sets in the foyer in between.
Columbiahalle Tempelhof
The Columbiahalle is located on Columbiadamm near Tempelhofer Feld, public transport via U6 Platz der Luftbrücke. With its hall space and large stage, the venue can accommodate up to 3,500 visitors and is one of Berlin's important addresses for acts of this scale.
