The Woodstock Forever Festival is an extraordinary open-air event in the heart of the Thuringian Slate Mountains. The venue is the Auenland holiday village in Waffenrod, a district of the town of Eisfeld in the Hildburghausen district — at around 600 meters above sea level with panoramic views over Thuringia and into Bavaria. Five Days of Festival with Three Stages

Over five days (August 12 to 16, 2026, Wednesday to Sunday), around 30 national and international acts will perform on three stages. The musical spectrum is broad, but remains true to the spirit of the late sixties and seventies: Rock, Blues, Stoner Rock, Progressive Rock, Krautrock, Singer/Songwriter, Grunge, and World Music. The mix creates transitions between generations — older festival-goers appreciate classic rock and Krautrock, while younger ones come for the Stoner and Grunge acts.

Family-Friendly Instead of Mega-Event

What sets the Woodstock Forever Festival apart from other hippie festivals is its explicitly family-friendly orientation. A dedicated Family Zone offers families a separate area with hands-on activities and workshops. Children up to 14 years old have free entry and do not need a ticket. A dedicated children's stage program and family entertainment throughout the festival week ensure that even the youngest are well looked after.

Camping, Summer Toboggan Run, Natural Scenery

The campsite is adjacent to the festival grounds — no long walks, no shuttles, no noise late into the night from other camping areas. On-site, there is a summer toboggan run, a children's playground, and gastronomic facilities. The combination of the elevated location of the Thuringian Slate Mountains (just under 600 meters), dense mixed forest, and wide meadows creates a unique festival setting: instead of dusty fields or muddy ground, festival-goers are in a real mountain holiday park.
