Filderstadt-Plattenhardt — A District in Transition

Plattenhardt is one of Filderstadt's five districts in the Esslingen district (AGS 08116), along with Bernhausen, Bonlanden, Harthausen, and Sielmingen, formed from the merger of the Filder communities in 1975. Plattenhardt's modern industrial area is home to many medium-sized businesses and trades — the annual Gewerbeschau (trade show) is the opportunity to present these to the citizens. In 2026, the Frühlingsfest celebrates its 25th edition — a quarter-century of district tradition.

Trade Show as the Centerpiece

The focus is on the over 40 exhibitors from Plattenhardt and the surrounding area: craft businesses, car dealerships, service providers, retail, banks, insurance companies, local clubs — they all have stands and exhibition spaces around the halls. Family businesses from the district showcase their latest products and innovations. Anyone who wants to get to know Plattenhardt as a business location is in the right place — and incidentally, machines, cars, furniture, and kitchens can be inspected on-site.

Program and Family Offer

In addition to the trade show, there is an extensive supporting program:

• Live music on stage (regional bands, acoustic concerts)
• Children's program — face painting, bouncy castle, craft activities, carousels
• Culinary offerings — Swabian specialties from local gastronomy
• Sunday shopping — retailers in Plattenhardt's town center open on March 29 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Free shuttle bus — connects the various exhibition halls and the parking garage

Two Days for a Family Weekend

Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. — the shortened Sunday program leaves room for a spring walk in the afternoon. The organizer is the Werbegemeinschaft Plattenhardt (local entrepreneurs and retailers) in cooperation with the city of Filderstadt. Admission is free. The Frühlingsfest finances advertising and district work for the entire year.
