Concerts Wandering Through the Old Town

The concept is simple and legendary: a single evening, thirteen locations, access to all concerts with or without a wristband. Altstadt Live Osnabrück has been an integral part of Lower Saxony's live music culture for nearly three decades. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM, the festival transforms Osnabrück's old town into a vibrant music mile.

13 Locations, One Evening

The participating pubs, bars, and cultural venues range from cozy corner pubs and trendy bars to the Lagerhalle. All styles are represented: rock and pop, soul and jazz, singer-songwriters, cover bands, folk, and electronic sets. Each venue chooses its own format — some focus on acoustic singer-songwriter programs, others on loud rock bands.

Lagerhalle: Lyn Bee and LIVEWIRE

The Lagerhalle, as a central venue, presents in 2026:

• Lyn Bee (from 8:00 PM) — Soul and humor in one program
• LIVEWIRE (from 9:45 PM) — Rock-pop cover band with a large repertoire

Festival Wristbands Instead of Tickets

The concept traditionally works like this: those who arrive in the evening receive a wristband that allows access to all locations. Admission is free. Food and drinks in the venues are charged at regular prices. Organizers and participating restaurateurs jointly finance the program.

Atmosphere and Tradition

The festival has shaped Osnabrück's nightlife culture since the mid-1990s. It's a meeting point for generations of live music fans: students alongside fifty-somethings, first-time visitors alongside regulars. Those who want to see as many bands as possible in one evening plan their route through the old town in advance — or just go with the flow.

Two Dates Per Year

Altstadt Live takes place twice a year: on Easter Sunday and on the eve of German Unity Day (October 2nd). Both editions are programmed independently but attract the same regular audience.
