Wolnzach Advent Tradition
The Wolnzach Christmas Market traditionally takes place on the third weekend of Advent on the market square in the center of Wolnzach. The market town in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm in the state of Bavaria is located in the heart of the Hallertau, the largest contiguous hop-growing region in the world. The market municipality of Wolnzach is the organizer in close cooperation with clubs, parishes, and local businesses.

Around 25 clubs, kindergartens, and parishes operate the outdoor stalls on the market square, while about 15 hobby artists present their works in the market hall.
The program includes goulash soup in bread, breaded mushrooms, hot chestnuts, bratwurst, mulled wine, and children's punch. Getting There
Wolnzach is located in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, about 60 kilometers north of Munich in the Hallertau region. By car via the A 9 (exit Wolnzach). By train to Pfaffenhofen and then by bus, or to Rohrbach an der Ilm. Parking in the town center is limited during the Christmas market – early arrival recommended.
Admission
Admission to the Christmas Market is free. Food, drinks, and handicrafts are sold at the club and artist stalls at usual Advent prices.
Tips
Those seeking a quiet experience should come on Friday evening shortly after the market opens at 6 PM. The Advent concerts on Sunday afternoon are a special highlight – highly recommended.
