Since its beginnings, the WOLFWEEZ Open-Air Festival has become a fixture in the South German metal scene. Held annually on the festival grounds in Dietingen-Irslingen, Rottweil district, the volunteer-run Musikinitiative Irslingen 2019 e.V. organizes two days of Heavy Metal, Hardcore, and Crossover for a maximum of 2,000 fans – familiar, intimate, and uncompromisingly heavy. The 10th anniversary edition in 2026 boasts one of the strongest line-ups in the festival's history with Dirkschneider, Hämatom, Arion, Born From Pain, Robse, and Blutgott. Camping directly on-site, fair ticket prices, and the famous Wolfweez family atmosphere make the festival an insider tip for metalheads tired of the mega-festival crowds.

The 10th WOLFWEEZ Open-Air 2026 takes place on July 3 and 4 at the festival grounds in Dietingen-Irslingen. Headliners: Dirkschneider (Accept repertoire) as well as Hämatom, Arion, Born From Pain, Robse, Traitor, Blutgott, and Kryn. Limited to 2,000 fans, camping included, tickets from €27.50.

On July 3 and 4, 2026, the Wolfweez festival grounds in Dietingen-Irslingen will become the stage for the 10th anniversary edition. Festival opening Friday from 4:30 PM, Saturday from 4:00 PM. The line-up combines heavy metal greats and underground gems from all over Europe. With Dirkschneider, a true legend of German heavy metal will bring the classic Accept repertoire to the Wolfweez stage. Bavarian medieval metallers Hämatom, Finnish symphonic metal from Arion, and Dutch hardcore from Born From Pain complete the program. Camping is possible directly on-site, and the visitor numbers remain around 2,000 fans – thus, the Wolfweez family atmosphere is maintained for the anniversary edition.

Getting There

Festival grounds Wolfweez, Epfendorfer Weg, 78661 Dietingen-Irslingen. By car: A81 exit Rottweil or Dornhandsweg. By train: Rottweil or Sulz am Neckar station, then shuttle or bus.

Camping

Camping directly at the festival grounds is possible – arrival is usually permitted from Thursday.

Ten Years of Wolfweez

The WOLFWEEZ Open-Air was founded in 2016 by music enthusiasts from the Irslingen area to create a stage for loud guitar music in the rural region between the Black Forest and the Swabian Jura. Today, for the 10th anniversary edition in 2026, the festival is an indispensable part of the South German metal landscape. It is organized by the volunteer association Musikinitiative Irslingen 2019 e.V., which manages the festival entirely independently.

The 2026 edition features a line-up that doesn't need to hide from much larger festivals. Confirmed bands include:

Note: The originally announced band Kataklysm had to cancel their performance in 2026.

The Wolfweez Philosophy

What makes the festival special is the deliberate limit of a maximum of 2,000 visitors. It's not an anonymous mass festival, but a meeting point for a dedicated community – bands and fans are on an equal footing here. Ticket prices start at around €27.50, significantly lower than comparable events. It's no wonder that Wolfweez is regularly discussed in relevant metal forums as "Germany's best small festival".

Nestled in the Rottweil District

Dietingen-Irslingen is located in the Rottweil district (state of Baden-Württemberg), between the eastern Black Forest and the Swabian Jura. The historic city of Rottweil, with its 246-meter-high ThyssenKrupp test tower, is just a few kilometers away – a perfect day trip for arriving festival visitors. Camping directly on-site, an open "Wiesn" atmosphere, and the Baden-Swabian hospitality round off the Wolfweez experience.
