100 Years of Brass Music in Flözlingen

In 2026, the Musikverein Flözlingen e.V. looks back on a century of club history: Founded in 1926, during a period when rural brass music was at its peak in Württemberg, the association has shaped the musical tradition of its district almost uninterruptedly ever since. The anniversary festival from July 10th to 13th, 2026, is THE musical highlight in the event calendar of the municipality of Zimmern ob Rottweil.

Anniversary Concert in March 2026

Even before the big festival weekend, the Musikverein invites you to a festive anniversary concert on March 21st, 2026. In a regional concert hall, it will present a sophisticated program — featuring works from 100 years of brass music repertoire, from march traditions and romantic suites to contemporary original compositions. A tribute to the musical journey of the association.

Four-Day Festival Weekend in July

The anniversary festival from July 10th to 13th, 2026, will unfold on the festival grounds in the center of Flözlingen. Friday begins with a ceremonial act under the festival tent — welcomes, greetings from the municipality and guest associations, and initial musical performances. Saturday is dedicated to guest brass bands who will travel to Flözlingen for the anniversary and present their repertoire. Sunday features a grand parade through Flözlingen with brass bands, traditional costume groups, and floats — the traditional highlight of every club anniversary. Monday includes a Frühshoppen (morning pint) and the festival's conclusion.

Flözlingen and Zimmern ob Rottweil

Flözlingen is one of the four districts of the municipality of Zimmern ob Rottweil in the Rottweil district. With around 1,200 inhabitants, Flözlingen is a typical Swabian village on the Swabian Jura escarpment, characterized by its rich tradition of club life. The municipality of Zimmern is located directly on the A 81 motorway between Rottweil and Villingen-Schwenningen. The Musikverein has been a core part of the district's identity since its founding.

Guest Associations and Parade

Club anniversaries like the 100th are important social and cultural events in the Swabian brass music tradition. Guest brass bands from the region — from Rottweil via Sulgen to Schwenningen and Tuningen — are invited and will perform partly in the festival tent and partly in the parade. An anniversary festival of this magnitude mobilizes the entire region and strengthens the network of Swabian club music.
