Street Food & Music Festival Münster (July Edition)

The Street Food & Music Festival Münster will take place in three editions on the central Schloßplatz in 2026 – in May, July, and October. This fiche refers to the Summer Edition from July 24th to 26th, 2026. The format is established nationwide: Food trucks, DJs, free admission – an urban city festival hybrid that does without classic stage performances.

Date and Location 2026

The July edition runs from Friday, July 24th, to Sunday, July 26th, 2026, on Schloßplatz in front of Münster Castle. Open daily from approx. 11 AM (Friday from 2 PM) until late evening. Free admission.

Over 25 International Food Trucks

The culinary offerings cover the most important street food worlds:

• Mexico: Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos
• Thailand: Pad Thai, Curries, Mango Sticky Rice
• America: BBQ, Pulled Pork, Smashburgers, Donuts
• Africa: West African stews, Ethiopian Injera dishes
• India: Curries, Naan, Samosas, Lassi
• Germany: Pretzels, Bratwurst, Fries
• Vegan: Jackfruit burgers, Soy schnitzel, Bowls
• Sweets: Ice cream rolls, Crêpes, Waffles, Donuts

DJ Program

Three DJs will play hourly sets throughout the day:

• Friday 24.7., 5 PM: Tony Trichter – Party, Charts, Hits
• Saturday 25.7., 3 PM: Marko Holtwick – Party, Charts, Hits
• Sunday 26.7., 1 PM: DJ Buffins – International House Sounds

Unlike classic city festivals, there are no live bands; the DJ sets continuously maintain the atmosphere from noon until evening.

Format and Concept

JUST Festivals Event Media GmbH from Dortmund organizes this format in over a dozen German cities – with almost identical setups: trucks, DJs, free admission, short festival days. This lowers entry barriers and makes the festival a relaxed summer stop for commuters, students, families, and tourists.

Schloßplatz – Münster's Stage

Schloßplatz is the largest open space in Münster's city center. In front of the baroque facade of the Prince-Bishop's Palace (now the university seat), numerous major events take place here – from the Send (a Volksfest held three times a year) to concerts and demonstrations. Its location makes Schloßplatz an ideally visible festival site.

Münster (approx. 320,000 inhabitants) is one of Germany's largest university cities with over 60,000 students. The city has an exceptionally dense festival and event landscape – from classical music festivals (Tage Alter Musik) to film festivals, theater festivals, the Send Volksfest, and street food formats like this one. The Street Food Festival complements the program with a young, accessible format.

Three Editions per Year

In 2026, the organizers are focusing on three editions in Münster: a May, a July, and an October edition. This frames the format seasonally – spring kickoff, summer highlight, autumn finale.
