Organic Wines as a Core Profile

The Winzerfest Coesfeld is one of the few German wine festivals that exclusively focuses on organic wines – and not just any, but wines from certified Bioland organic farming. Bioland is one of the largest organic farming associations in Germany, with strict criteria for cultivation, vinification, and processing. The Coesfeld event clearly positions itself against the mainstream of conventional German wine festivals.

Four Days on the Market Square

The date for 2026 is from Thursday, May 7th, to Sunday, May 10th. The venue is the central market square of Coesfeld, framed by the historic Lambertikirche, the town hall, and the gabled townhouses of the Westmünsterland city center. The market square setting is an essential part of the concept: the wine festival is small, but atmospherically dense.

Tasting and Accompanying Program

Organic vintners from various German growing regions will be pouring at the stands – the final exhibitor list for 2026 will be published by the city of Coesfeld shortly before the event. Tastings are done by the glass, complemented by regional specialties and some food trucks. Live music in a subtle format will play on the market square in the evenings – no stage spectacle, but background sound for tasting.

Bioland and the Münsterland Region

The Münsterland region is one of Germany's agriculturally strong areas, and Bioland has a strong member base here. The Coesfeld Wine Festival builds on this regional Bioland tradition and simultaneously serves as a showcase for organically produced wines – a program that clearly sets it apart from the tourist and folk festival character of many German wine festivals.

Coesfeld as the Westmünsterland Hub

Coesfeld, the district town of the Coesfeld district, is located in western Münsterland between Münster and the Dutch border. With just under 37,000 inhabitants, the town is the administrative and commercial center of the Westmünsterland cultural landscape. The Wine Festival fits into the city's growing spectrum of culinary-oriented events.

Winzerfest — edition 2026

The 7th edition of the Winzerfest Coesfeld runs from Thursday, May 7th, to Sunday, May 10th, 2026, on the market square. The focus is on organic wines from certified Bioland organic farming, complemented by regional dishes and live music. Free admission. Date subject to confirmation by the city of Coesfeld – final confirmation via coesfeld.de.

7th Organic Wine Festival on the Market Square

From May 7th to 10th, 2026, the city of Coesfeld invites you to the 7th edition of its organic wine festival on the central market square. Bioland-certified vintners will be pouring, there will be regional food at the catering stands, and the accompanying program will consist of subtle live music in the evenings.

The city currently lists the event in its calendar "subject to confirmation" – the date is provisional and will be finally confirmed in due course. The tradition of the previous six editions suggests a repeat of the proven format.
