About Wintervergnügen

The Wintervergnügen Norderstedt is the city's classic Advent event in the Segeberg district (Schleswig-Holstein). From November 18 to December 23, 2026, the forecourt on Rathausallee will be transformed into a Christmas market focusing on organic mulled wine, fair-trade specialties, and a family program. Crêpes, cranberry punch, and cocoa with a high organic and fair-trade content characterize the culinary offerings. Highlights for children: a nostalgic carousel, visits from Santa Claus, and meet-and-greets with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. New in 2026: Family Day with special promotions and "Advent im Schuhkarton" (Advent in a Shoebox) for the homeless.

Norderstedt's Sustainable Advent Market

Norderstedt, with around 80,000 inhabitants, is the fifth-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein and lies directly on the border with Hamburg in the Segeberg district. The young metropolis—formed in 1970 from several municipalities—has over the years treated itself to its own Advent classic: the Wintervergnügen Norderstedt on the forecourt of Rathausallee in the Mitte district.

The market consciously distinguishes itself from the standard mulled wine market: organizer Bergmann-Gruppe, in cooperation with the City of Norderstedt, focuses on organic mulled wine, cranberry punch, organic cocoa, and specialties with a high fair-trade content. The food offerings (crêpes, regional sausages, cheese specialties) also follow a sustainable concept.

Six Weeks of Programming

The Wintervergnügen extends over six weeks—from mid-November until just before Christmas. Unlike most Norderstedt events, the market closes on December 23rd, allowing the last days before Christmas Eve to be utilized.

For Families

The Wintervergnügen clearly positions itself as a family market. The centerpiece is a nostalgic children's carousel, complemented by craft and activity stations. Santa Claus visits regularly, meet-and-greets with Disney characters (Anna, Elsa, Olaf from "Frozen") and after-work mulled wine evenings with Christmas music round off the program.

Family Day and "Advent im Schuhkarton" 2026

New in the 2026 program: a dedicated Family Day with special promotions for children and parents, as well as the charity campaign "Advent im Schuhkarton", where visitors can pack gift boxes for the homeless and needy. The packages will be distributed directly from the market to aid organizations. The Wintervergnügen thus positions itself as a socially engaged Advent market—a line that fits the young, rather progressive city of Norderstedt.

Wintervergnügen — edition 2026

The 2026 edition starts on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, and ends on Wednesday, December 23—six weeks of Advent programming on the forecourt of Rathausallee in Norderstedt-Mitte. The sustainable concept (organic, fair-trade, socially engaged) will be expanded in 2026.
