Norderstedt Runs

Norderstedt, with around 80,000 inhabitants, is the fifth-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein and belongs to the Hamburg Metropolitan Region — home to numerous medium-sized companies and corporations. This economic density makes the AOK Company Run Norderstedt possible: Over 90 companies register teams, and more than 1,300 runners compete together. This makes the company run one of the largest company sports events in Schleswig-Holstein and the entire Hamburg Metropolitan Region.

Stadtparksee as the Race Track

The venue is Stadtpark Norderstedt with the distinctive Stadtparksee in its center. The course leads twice around the lake — one lap is approx. 2.25 km long, and the total distance is around 4.5 km. The profile is flat and fast, ideal for beginners and hobby athletes. Those who want to run faster can also do so — it is officially timed, but the concept focuses on team spirit, not personal best times.

A Run for Everyone

The AOK Company Run is for all employees — employees, trainees, interns, and managers together:

• Everyone runs in their own company shirt
• Competition for the fastest company teams (ranking: average time of the best 4)
• Competition for the company with the most participants
• Ranking for “Costumed Teams” — the most creative company outfits win
• Families and friends are welcome as cheerleaders and spectators

Charity Included

For each registered person, 1 Euro goes to the Förderverein der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Norderstedt (Support Association of the Norderstedt Volunteer Fire Brigade). With over 1,300 registrations, the charity contribution amounts to over 1,300 Euros — a living example of the connection between company sports and voluntary commitment.

Training and Preparation

JuNi's Laufcoaching offers training programs for beginners and advanced runners in the run-up to the event. This aims to enable even beginners to tackle the 4.5 km course — team spirit and health promotion are the focus.
