Advent Atmosphere with Neighbourhood Character
Wintertreff Winterhude stands for a different kind of Christmas market: smaller, quieter, more regional. Selected stalls offering a high degree of regional, fair-trade, and organic products gather on Winterhude Market Square in the eponymous district of Hamburg-Nord from November 12 to December 23, 2026. The market is aimed at the neighbourhood and anyone who wants to experience the Hamburg Christmas season away from the crowds around Jungfernstieg and Rathausmarkt.
Culinary Delights: Regional and Handmade
The focus is on mulled wine made from our own recipe and homemade apple punch, which has become a Wintertreff specialty since its first edition in 2021. Sweet and savoury stalls offer seasonal specialities – from North German tradition, with regional ingredients. The stalls change partly daily, allowing visitors to make new discoveries on multiple visits.

- Social Saturday: Every Saturday in Advent, a portion of the proceeds goes to charitable causes

The Idea Behind It
Wintertreff was launched by bjp GmbH (Bergmanngruppe) – with the aim of creating a market that focuses less on mass consumption and more on encounters, sustainability, and neighbourhood life. The market has been growing steadily since 2021 and is now one of the fixed Advent dates in the northeast of Hamburg.
Winterhude During Advent
Winterhude Market Square is conveniently connected to the U3 underground line (Sierichstraße station), and city trains stop nearby. Its location between the Goldbek Canal and the Alster makes Wintertreff a charming address for a combined walk along the water, followed by a hot drink at a market stall. Admission to the market is free.
Wintertreff Winterhude — edition 2026
For six weeks, from November 12 to December 23, 2026, Wintertreff will occupy Winterhude Market Square in the north of Hamburg. The organizer is bjp GmbH of the Bergmanngruppe.
The focus is on culinary specialities from regional, fair-trade, and organic production: homemade mulled wine and apple punch, as well as changing sweet and savoury stalls. Social highlights include the wish tree for seniors, "Social Saturday" on December 8 with fundraising activities, and the "Advent in a Shoebox" collection campaign for those in need.
Admission is free. Travel by U-Bahn U3 (Sierichstraße) is recommended.
