Wine festival with panoramic views over Winnenden — Friday evening winegrowers' meeting, Saturday guided wine hike with DJs and musicians
When the vineyards around the Haselstein near Winnenden glow in the evening sun on a warm May weekend, and the Remstal valley and the Swabian Jura can be seen in the background, the Panoramaweinfest is back. From May 8th to 9th, 2026, the Winnenden wineries will transform their vineyard slopes into a summery open-air wine mile. You can enjoy Swabian wines with one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the Rems-Murr district — a festival that attracts wine lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
The kick-off is on Friday, May 8th, 2026, from 4 PM to 10:30 PM. All Winnenden wineries will present their best wines directly on the Panoramaweinmeile at Haselstein. You can sample the entire spectrum of Winnenden viticulture — from dry Trollinger to refreshing Riesling, fruity Kerner, and robust Lemberger, to promising Spätburgunder. In clear weather, the view extends far into the landscape — all the way to the Swabian Jura escarpment. From dusk onwards, DJs and musicians will provide the right atmosphere.
Saturday, May 9th, 2026, from 1 PM to 5 PM, offers a very special experience: the guided wine hike. Meet at the parking lot behind the Wunnebad and hike with a vintner through the Winnenden vineyards — with stops at various vineyard sites, explanations about the soil structure (Keuper, Lias, Muschelkalk), tasting sips directly from the vine, and stories from everyday viticulture. The hike ends at the Panoramaweinmeile at Haselstein with further tastings and a second evening with DJs and musicians until late into the night.
Accompanying the wines, Swabian and Mediterranean specialties will be offered — Maultaschen, Käsespätzle, Flammkuchen, Antipasti platters, Bruschetta, cheese platters with regional semi-hard cheese. The atmosphere is deliberately relaxed: you sit among the rows of vines on folding chairs or hay bales, listen to music and conversations, and watch the sunset over the Remstal valley. A insider tip for wine connoisseurs and families alike — children are welcome, even though the festival clearly has a wine festival character.
The town of Winnenden, with around 28,000 inhabitants, is located in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg, about 25 kilometers northeast of Stuttgart. It is an important center of Württemberg viticulture — the slopes around Winnenden belong to the Württemberg wine region, which, between Stuttgart, Heilbronn, and Schwäbisch Hall, is one of Germany's major wine-growing areas with over 11,000 hectares. The typical Winnenden character with half-timbered houses, the historic town church, and the late-Gothic hospital church shapes the city center; the vineyards surround it like a collar.
The Panoramaweinfest 2026 will take place on the first full weekend of May in the proven two-day format. Friday focuses on the open-air tasting at the Panoramaweinmeile at Haselstein — all Winnenden wineries with their own stands, DJs and musicians from dusk onwards. Saturday offers the guided wine hike as the main attraction — a relaxed, almost four-hour tour with stops, explanations, and tastings.
The atmosphere at Haselstein is unique: wine tasting among the rows of vines, panoramic views over the Remstal valley to the Swabian Jura, sunset ambiance with music. Families and wine connoisseurs alike will find their place here.
