Since 2000 in Hildesheim

M'era Luna celebrated its premiere in Hildesheim in 2000 and has since developed into one of the most important dates on the international Dark Music scene. With around 25,000 visitors annually, it is one of the major open-air festivals of the German summer and, at the same time, a point of identification for the black scene far beyond Germany.

Lineup 2026

For the 2026 edition, the organizer has confirmed the following acts, among others: In Extremo, White Lies, Within Temptation, OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark), Floor Jansen, Saltatio Mortis, and Combichrist. This selection shows the stylistic breadth: from symphonic metal and medieval rock to wave-pop and hard electronic acts. Two Stages at the Airfield

The festival grounds at Drispenstedt Airfield feature two stages: the large open-air main stage, where the headliners perform, and the Hangar – a covered stage in an aircraft hangar, which is one of M'era Luna's hallmarks due to its acoustics and special atmosphere. This division creates spaces for different musical moods and allows the lineup to be distributed across both stages throughout the weekend.

More Than a Concert Festival

M'era Luna has always seen itself as a cultural showcase for the Dark scene. A large medieval market, a clothing market with specialized providers for Gothic fashion and accessories, tattoo studios, show acts, readings, and evening camp life at the festival campsite are integral parts of the event. The impressive image of the grounds – thousands of costumed visitors in elaborate Gothic outfits – has become a program point in itself and has been portrayed by fashion, travel magazines, and documentary filmmakers for years.

Camping and Infrastructure

The festival camping in close proximity to the airfield is part of the experience: a temporary village where the scene lives together. Sanitary facilities, supply stands, showers, and shuttle connections are organized. Those who prefer to stay in Hildesheim itself benefit from the city's good transport links.

Admission and Tickets

Festival tickets for M'era Luna are available from €125 (standard festival pass). Day tickets and camping tickets are offered in parallel. Advance sales are via meraluna.de and the usual festival ticket shops. Due to high demand and the festival's popularity, early ticket purchase is recommended.
