About rbb-Lauf Potsdam
rbb-Lauf Potsdam — edition 2026
21st Edition of the Potsdam Third Marathon
The 2026 rbb-Lauf celebrates a small anniversary with its 21st edition — since its premiere in 2006, the run has become a fixed date in the Brandenburg running calendar. The start and finish at the historic Glienicke Bridge connect the run with one of the most famous places in German post-war history.
The Third Marathon (14.065 km) leads through the palace and garden landscape of Berlin-Brandenburg and is scenically one of the most spectacular fun runs in Germany. The organizer is the Potsdam City Sports Association with the support of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg.

From Glienicke Park across the Havel
When the starting gun fires at 10 a.m. in front of the Glienicke Bridge on the last weekend of April, one of Brandenburg's most beautiful fun runs begins. The rbb-Lauf — named after Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, the long-time main partner — celebrates its 21st edition in 2026. The distance is unusual: 14.065 km, exactly one-third of the classic marathon distance (42.195 km). This "Third Marathon" concept makes the run particularly attractive for hobby runners who want to approach longer distances without running a half marathon — and for marathon trainees who want to incorporate a fluid test run in April.
The Course — Along the Havel and Through Babelsberg
The course is scenically magnificent: From the start in Berlin-Wannsee/Glienicke Park, it crosses the Glienicke Bridge to Potsdam — the bridge where agents were exchanged between East and West during the Cold War. The run then leads along Lake Glienicke, through Babelsberg Park past Babelsberg Castle, along the Havel towards Babelsberg-Süd, and finally back across the Glienicke Bridge. The finish line is on the bridge itself — symbolically on the border between Berlin and Brandenburg, between the West and the East of the formerly divided city.
Also a 10 km Run and Children's Run
In addition to the Third Marathon (minimum age 14), a 10 km run is offered (minimum age 12). Both distances start simultaneously at 10 a.m. and share parts of the course. For families, there are also children's and Bambini runs over short distances around the start/finish area — the rbb-Lauf is a classic family event where parents run and children are then called to the starting line themselves.
Registration and Entry Fees
Registration is online via davengo.com or the rbb-Lauf website. Entry fees vary depending on the registration wave: from €30 for the first 500 registrations, up to €45 from 2,001 registrations. Online registration is possible until mid-April 2026; late registration on the day of the run between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. (€45, cash only). The time limit is 2 hours — ample time even for leisurely runners over the 14 km distance.
Potsdam — World Heritage Running Landscape
Potsdam, the state capital of Brandenburg with over 180,000 inhabitants and a UNESCO World Heritage site for its palaces and garden landscape, is one of Germany's most beautiful running landscapes. Those who run the Third Marathon will have Sanssouci, Glienicke Park, Babelsberg, and the Havel lakes virtually in sight. For visitors from outside, an extended weekend is worthwhile — before or after the run, you can visit Sanssouci Palace, the Babelsberg Film Park studios, or the Dutch Quarter.
