City-Treff Winnenden — Four Days in the Heart of the City
The City-Treff Winnenden is the largest city festival of the Große Kreisstadt in the Rems-Murr district northeast of Stuttgart. In 2026, the festival runs from Friday, July 24 to Monday, July 27, using the entire city center as its stage: Marktplatz, Wallstraße, Viehmarktplatz, Kirchstraße — stalls, music, meeting points everywhere. Organized by the City of Winnenden in cooperation with associations, gastronomy, vintners, and showmen.
Marktplatz — The Main Stage
The Marktplatz with the historic town hall is the central festival area. Here, the Stadtkapelle Winnenden (Winnenden City Band) traditionally opens the festival with a city music performance, followed by a dense program of live bands, cover bands, solo acts, and DJs on the festival evenings. Around the stage are the stalls of Winnenden's gastronomy and the Winnenden wineries (the city has its own small vineyards at Schelmenholz, Schweizerberg, and on the surrounding slopes). There is also a stall of the volunteer fire department offering refreshments.
Wallstraße — Association Mile and Children's Zone
The Wallstraße is taken over by the Winnenden associations: sports, music, and heritage associations provide food and drinks, keep their membership funds full, and entertain the public. This is also where the children's and youth zone is located — with hands-on activities such as game walls, go-kart races, human table football, and many other games. The special feature: Everything is free for children, organized by the youth departments of the associations.
Viehmarktplatz — Amusement Rides and Family Entertainment
On the Viehmarktplatz, you'll find the amusement rides: a small family Volksfest (public festival) with a carousel, swing ride, bumper cars, shooting gallery, candy stall, and candied almonds. A family-friendly area away from the loud main stage.
Weinlaube on Kirchstraße
In front of the city church, on Kirchstraße, the Weinlaube (wine tavern) is set up — cozy, rustic wooden arbors, long tables, fairy lights, and wine service from Winnenden vintners. Here, visitors can sit, enjoy wine, chat, and soak up the festive atmosphere. Traditionally the prime spot for the 30+ crowd, especially charming in the evenings under the lights.
Program Highlights
Friday, July 24: Festival opening at the Marktplatz with the Stadtkapelle Winnenden. Live band in the evening. Association stalls and Weinlaube open.
Saturday, July 25: Main evening with a big live program. Several bands alternating on stage. Amusement park in full operation. Weinlaube fully booked.
Sunday, July 26: Family Day. Association festival in the Wallstraße with extensive children's program, game stations, possibly performances by youth associations. Afternoon program by the Stadtkapelle.
Monday, July 27: Festival finale with a quieter program — final concerts, relaxed closing of the beverage service.
Winnenden — Hometown Between Vineyards
The Große Kreisstadt Winnenden (AGS 08119, Rems-Murr district) has around 28,000 inhabitants and is located between Stuttgart (approx. 20 km) and the Welzheimer Wald forest. Known for the Kärcher headquarters (high-pressure cleaners), Schloss Winnental, and the Winnenden wineries on Schweizerberg. The cityscape is characterized by the Marktplatz with the town hall, the city church, a well-preserved old town, and the natural backdrop of vineyards close to the city.
