Churfranken Wine Festival in the historic monastery courtyard
The Wine Festival at Kloster Himmelthal is one of the most beautiful wine festivals in the Churfranken wine region. The venue is the historic monastery courtyard of the Kloster Himmelthal, founded in 1232, near Elsenfeld in the Lower Franconian district of Miltenberg, Bavaria. The venerable walls offer a wonderful, shady atmosphere for enjoying wine, even on hot summer days.
The festival is organized by the Rücker vintners from the neighboring wine village of Rück. They bring not only their fine Franconian wines but also a diverse culinary offering – from classic cheese cubes to vintner's bread and specialties from the festival caterers.
Live bands play on each of the four festival evenings: local and nationally known groups present cover songs and their own compositions. When the last rays of sun disappear behind the monastery walls, the stage area transforms into a large dance floor – a special moment in the historic ambiance.
