Four days of wine from ten wineries in Bendixpark — reservation tables are usually booked weeks in advance
The Wine Festival Dülmen has been the most popular summer event in the Westphalian city in Münsterland for years. It is organized by Dülmen Marketing GmbH; the venue is the historic Bendixpark in the city center – a park-like green space that is ideal for an evening wine festival with standing tables and lawns.
In 2026, the wine festival will start exceptionally on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, and run until Saturday, June 6th, 2026. The reason is Corpus Christi (June 4th, 2026, Thursday) – a public holiday in North Rhine-Westphalia, which creates the long weekend. Wednesday thus serves as the 'eve' for the actual festival weekend.
In the park, ten wineries present their wines – nine of them are familiar to Dülmen residents from previous years, and one new winery completes the lineup: Weingut Rald Trautwein from Bötzingen am Kaiserstuhl. The other names: Weingut Busch, Weingut Heil, Weingut Mathy-Schanz, Weingut Beyer-Bähr, Weingut Geil, Keber Kolling, Weingut Peter Eckes, Gut Philippshof – Weingut Eckes, Familien-Weingut Räder. The range of growing areas thus extends from Pfalz and Mosel to Rheinhessen and Kaiserstuhl in Baden – a broad cross-section of German wine culture.
A Dülmen specialty is the 'own glass' tradition: each stand serves wine in its own branded wine glass, which visitors receive as a deposit or can keep. Bookable tables are in high demand and are usually fully booked weeks before the festival begins – remaining spots are mainly moved to Thursday. Those who don't secure a table will find numerous standing tables distributed throughout the park, as well as tables directly at the winemakers' stalls, which are not reservable. The atmosphere is familiar and relaxed in the evenings, with classic summer vibes in the park.
Dülmen is located in the Coesfeld district in southern Münsterland (state of North Rhine-Westphalia) and, with around 47,000 inhabitants, is an important center of the region. The city is best known for the Dülmen wild horses in Merfelder Bruch – one of the last original wild horse herds in Europe. With the wine festival, the city presents itself as summery and hospitable, bringing German wine tradition to a region otherwise more known for beer andkorn.
