The Whitsun Festival of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Kämpfelbach is one of the typical Whitsun traditions in Southern Germany: a small community, an active fire brigade association, a Whitsun Sunday full of hospitality, socialising, and club life. The festival takes place at the Ersingen Fire Station — Ersingen is one of the two districts of Kämpfelbach (alongside Bilfingen), which merged to form the present-day municipality in 1974.

Format and Program

The festival takes place on Whitsun Sunday, May 24, 2026, in a relaxed daytime format at the fire station. The catering is classic: barbecue specialties (sausages, steaks, shashlik), cold drinks (draught beer, wine from the Enzkreis region, soft drinks), side dishes (salads, fries, bread). There is a children's program with a bouncy castle and games, as well as fire brigade demonstrations — typically firefighting drills, equipment demonstrations, and occasionally a small show for the children, where they can also inspect the fire engine.

Kämpfelbach in the Enzkreis District

Kämpfelbach is a municipality with just under 6,200 inhabitants in the southern Enzkreis district (Baden-Württemberg), on the southern edge of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park. The municipality consists of the two districts Ersingen (main town) and Bilfingen. In summer, the region is characterised by scattered fruit orchards, residual vineyards, and a quiet residential atmosphere. The Volunteer Fire Brigade Kämpfelbach is one of the most active associations in the municipality.
