Whitsun Concerts at Berlin Zoo

On Whitsun Monday, May 25, 2026, the traditional Whitsun Concerts format will take place at Berlin Zoo from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. On the stage at the Kakadu Terrace Café, over 13 Berlin choirs and music groups will perform classical repertoire, spirituals, pop, a cappella, and contemporary works. Admission is included in the regular zoo ticket; annual pass holders attend for free.

Program (chronological, as published):

Morning

• 10:00–10:25 AM — Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Chor (founded 1951, classical choral repertoire)
• 10:30–10:55 AM — Berliner A-Cappella-Chor (active since 1953, a cappella literature)
• Further morning slots with Berlin choirs

Lunch Block

• Break for choir change and picnic opportunity
• Further performances with folk songs and gospel

Afternoon

• 2:30–2:55 PM — Pretty Noise (modern pop choir with songs from current pop acts)
• 3:00–3:25 PM — Landesjugendchor Berlin (choir for 14- to 26-year-olds, contemporary choral music)
• Further afternoon slots

Conclusion until 5:30 PM

• Final choir with concluding program

Format

• Each choir performs for about 25 to 30 minutes
• Breaks between performances for changes
• Open air in all weather conditions—wear rain gear or bring umbrellas if it rains
• Bring your own seat cushions, blankets, or picnic blankets

Getting There

Berlin Zoo, Am Tierpark 125, 10319 Berlin (Lichtenberg borough, Friedrichsfelde district). U-Bahn U5 to Tierpark, directly in front of the main entrance. Several bus lines (192, 296) also nearby.

Concert admission included in the regular zoo ticket—Adults €18 (reduced €12), Children €9. Annual pass holders free of charge.

Good to Know

Open-air stage at the Kakadu Terrace Café. Limited seating—bring your own cushion or picnic blanket. Combining with a zoo visit is logical—the zoo is large enough to stroll after a concert and return for the next.
