About Music Days at Whitsun
Music Days at Whitsun — edition 2026
In 2026, organizer Kunst- und Kulturverein Rheinsberg e.V. relies on proven formats: the opening 'Hof Open Air', the gala concert of the Rheinsberg Court Chapel with the 'Polychroma' program for the 2025/26 season, the traditional brass serenade, and the organ fairy tales for children. New to the program: an increased focus on improvisation on Whitsun Saturday in the Musikbrennerei. Most events remain free.

Whitsun belongs to Rheinsberg
Rheinsberg, the small castle town in northern Brandenburg (Ostprignitz-Ruppin district), has been celebrating its own music festival around Whitsun for years. The Rheinsberg Music Days are organized by the Kunst- und Kulturverein Rheinsberg e.V. — deliberately decentralized, deliberately genre-open, deliberately accessible: most events are free.
The Venues: Spiegelsaal, Akademiehof, Marstall, Musikbrennerei
Instead of a large festival stage, the festival utilizes the existing architectural treasures: the Spiegelsaal in Rheinsberg Castle (for classical evenings), the Akademiehof (for open-air concerts), the Musikbrennerei (for an intimate, semi-professional atmosphere), the Marstall (for the traditional brass serenade), and St. Laurentius Church (for the organ fairy tales). You can walk between all venues — Rheinsberg is small.
Program between Jazz and Chamber Music
The program dramaturgy plays with contrasts: Classical court chapel concerts (Polychroma program) stand alongside folk-rock in the Akademiehof, boogie-woogie next to brass serenade, children's fairy tale concert next to a workers' choir. This diversity is the program — the Music Days explicitly aim not to be a high-culture festival, but a town festival with a musical focus.
What makes Rheinsberg Special
Anyone who has been here knows: the mix of water (Lake Grienerick, Rheinsberg Lake District), castle architecture (Frederick II's youth residence), and relaxed pace is unique in Brandenburg. With arrival by NEB from Berlin or by bike from Neuruppin, the Music Days are a perfect Whitsun excursion — combine it with a castle visit, a boat trip, and musical highlights.
