Probably Germany's Most Unique Christmas Market
Santa Pauli has been running on Spielbudenplatz since the late 2000s – between the Klubhaus St. Pauli, the Operettenhaus, and the Reeperbahn. The concept deliberately breaks with the conservative image of a Christmas market: instead of shepherds and a children's choir, there's burlesque, strip shows on stage, live music, and mulled wine in specially created St. Pauli versions (with names like "Bordsteinschwalbe" and "Nussknacker"). The gift stalls range from "charming" to "charmingly cheeky" – sex-positive fashion, vintage record rarities, Hamburg handicrafts with a wink.
Spielbudenplatz Atmosphere
On Spielbudenplatz, a mix of Christmas stall, burlesque bar, and Reeperbahn theatre takes over the stage. The Winterdeck Bar serves its mulled wine cocktails from late afternoon onwards; as the evening progresses, the market transforms into an open-air bar with Christmas tree lighting. Those who prefer things more traditional will be out of place here – those looking for a Christmas market with Hamburg's St. Pauli character will be in the right spot.
Free Admission, SafeNow Concept
Admission is free. New for 2026: a SafeNow Zone as a safety area where security personnel can be reached at any time. The animated film series "Santas Kiez" will be shown concurrently in the online shop; the mulled wine variations can be custom-mixed in "Santas Glühweinapotheke" (Santa's Mulled Wine Pharmacy).

Six Weeks of Santa Pauli
From Monday, November 9 to Wednesday, December 23, 2026, Santa Pauli opens on Spielbudenplatz in the heart of the Reeperbahn. The concept remains true to its profile: alternative Christmas atmosphere in the St. Pauli style with burlesque, strip shows on stage, live music, and specially created mulled wine cocktails.
New for 2026: SafeNow Zone
For the first time in 2026, there will be an official SafeNow Zone at the market – a safety area with staff available at all times. The organizers are responding to the high attendance on weekends and the need for clearly marked retreat areas.
