60 Summer Nights, 15 Live Concerts — Hohwachter Bucht Meets American West Coast Music
The Baltic Sea resort of Hohwacht is located in the Plön district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the bay of the same name, between Kiel and Lübeck. With its fine sandy beach, the quiet cliff coast, and a conscious departure from mass tourism, Hohwacht is one of the most relaxed seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea. The Boogie-, Blues- and Folk Nights fit perfectly into this setting: no festival stage in the middle of the market square, but concerts in small venues — the 'Flunder' on the beach, hotels, restaurants, and the Strandhotel Hohe Wacht.
The Boogie-, Blues- and Folk Nights were founded in 2004 by the Hohwachter Bucht Tourism Service. What started as a small live music format has evolved into a summer program spanning approximately 60 days and encompassing about 15 concerts. The concept is simple: every evening from 6:00 PM, a live performance at the 'Flunder' or one of the partner locations, with free or low-cost admission, accompanied by Baltic Sea sundowners. The event has become a regular meeting point for blues enthusiasts from Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, and the Lower Saxony hinterland.
The main stage is the 'Flunder', an open-air venue located directly on the beach, offering views of the Baltic Sea during the concert. Other venues include Hotel Hohe Wacht, Tom's Hütte, Flunderbar, and selected restaurants in the town. Concerts uniformly start at 6:00 PM — perfect for combining a day at the beach with live music.
The Boogie-, Blues- and Folk Nights have been a regular summer event in Hohwacht since 2004 and will continue in 2026. The Hohwachter Bucht Tourism Service is again planning around 15 concerts at the 'Flunder', Hotel Hohe Wacht, Tom's Hütte, Flunderbar, and other locations in the town.
Concerts uniformly start at 6:00 PM. The musical spectrum ranges from Boogie-Woogie and Blues to Folk and Country, as well as Soul and Gospel. The specific daily and artist program for 2026 will be announced by the organizer during the season.
The artist lineup and daily program for 2026 will be announced by the tourism service at ostsee.de/hohwacht and by phone at 04381 90550.
