Weinstadt-Weindorf — edition 2026
Wine Village "auf Achse" 2026
Four days of Remstal wine enjoyment in a decentralized format: From April 30 to May 3, 2026, Weinstadt wineries and restaurants will open their courtyards for a joint wine village weekend. Instead of a central stage, each location has its own program — wine tasting, snacks, live music, courtyard tours — and stays open longer during the wine village days.
The wine village is embedded in a special events week starting April 27 with the reopening of the newly renovated Marktstraße in Beutelsbach.

Weinstadt-Weindorf — A Decentralized Wine Format
The Weinstadt-Weindorf "auf Achse" has been the most important wine event in Weinstadt for years — and at the same time one of the most original wine festivals in Württemberg. Instead of a central festival grounds, the wine village is spread across wineries and restaurants in the five districts of Strümpfelbach, Endersbach, Großheppach, Beutelsbach, and Schnait. Visitors travel or hike "auf Achse" (on the go) from district to district, tasting at various wineries, eating Swabian specialties in different courtyards — and thus discovering Weinstadt's entire Remstal wine panorama.
Participating Wineries and Restaurants
The 2026 wine village brings together several renowned Weinstadt wineries and restaurateurs:
- Großheppach: Weingut Ellwanger, Weingut im Hof
- Endersbach: Weingut Schwegler
- Strümpfelbach: Weingut Kuhnle, Weingut Wilhelm
- Beutelsbach: Remstalkellerei eG (cooperative winery with over 500 member winegrowers)
- Schnait: Weinstube Anker (restaurant)
- Beutelsbach: Landgasthof „Zum Löwen" (restaurant)
Each location designs its own program — wine tasting, snacks, live music, courtyard tours — and stays open longer than usual during the wine village days.
Top Württemberg Wines
With over 460 hectares of vineyards, Weinstadt is one of the largest wine-growing communities in Württemberg and is located in the heart of the Remstal between Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Gmünd. The vineyards at Schnait, Goldberg, Hörnle, and Kappelberg produce classics such as Riesling, Lemberger, Trollinger, Schwarzriesling, Spätburgunder, and Müller-Thurgau. Several Weinstadt wineries are members of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) or have comparable profiles — the quality is significantly above the Württemberg average.
Special Events Week and Reopening of Marktstraße Beutelsbach
The 2026 wine village is embedded in a special events week that begins as early as April 27. During this week, the Marktstraße in Beutelsbach, newly renovated after extensive refurbishment, will be reopened — a major municipal project that enhances the Beutelsbach town center and is now linked to the start of the wine village.
Weinstadt and the Remstal
Weinstadt was formed in 1975 through the merger of five independent wine-growing villages: Beutelsbach (seat of the city administration), Endersbach, Großheppach, Schnait, and Strümpfelbach. With around 27,000 inhabitants, Weinstadt is now one of the most important wine-growing communities in Württemberg. The "auf Achse" wine village format reflects its polycentric structure — and turns a wine event into a journey of discovery through the Remstal.
