Advent market in the historic park estate on the Lesum
The Weihnachtszauber Kränholm is one of the most beautiful Advent events in Bremen North. On the high banks of the Lesum, between Vegesack and Schönebeck in the Burglesum district, Kränholm opens its gates on the four Advent weekends, transforming the historic park estate into a small, very personal Christmas market. Unlike the large rows of stalls in the city center, the Weihnachtszauber Kränholm focuses on atmosphere: old trees, illuminated paths, a courtyard, a barn, and the in-house café.
The stalls offer everything that belongs to a North German Advent weekend: mulled wine and hot non-alcoholic drinks, grilled salmon from an open wood fire, steaks, currywurst with fries, crêpes, and sweet delicacies from the Kränholm bakery. On the third Advent weekend, a small craft market will also feature jewelry, knitwear, and handmade items from the region. The Kränholm café spoils visitors with winter cakes, pastries, soups, and quiches.
The program is aimed at families with children: Live music, choirs, and music schools, stick bread by the fire, and storytelling sessions are part of the regular repertoire. Every Advent Saturday from 2 PM to 4 PM, the bakery transforms into a hands-on Christmas bakery where children can knead, decorate, bake, and taste. On December 6th, a larger Christmas baking workshop for children takes place (€22.50 per participant).
The Weihnachtszauber Kränholm is rooted in the Burglesum district (Schönebeck/Vegesack locality) and is one of the fixed Advent dates in the state of Bremen. The Kränholm park estate is picturesquely located on the high banks of the Lesum, shortly before its mouth into the Weser, and is a popular excursion destination for Bremen's north end all year round.
The 2026 Advent edition of Weihnachtszauber Kränholm opens its gates on the four classic Advent weekends: November 28–30, December 5–7, December 12–14, and December 19–20, 2026. From 2 PM to 9 PM each day, the historic park estate on Auf dem Hohen Ufer transforms into an atmospheric Christmas market with mulled wine, grilled salmon, currywurst, crêpes, and specialties from the Kränholm bakery. The café serves winter cakes, pastries, soups, and quiches. Live music, choirs, music schools, stick bread by the fire, and storytelling sessions complement the program. Every Advent Saturday, the bakery transforms into a hands-on Christmas bakery for children between 2 PM and 4 PM.
Opening hours on all days: 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
