Christmas Market in the Courtyards

The "Weihnachtlicher Hofzauber" is the Christmas market of Neustrelitz, the baroque residential town in the Mecklenburg Lake District (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). Its concept distinguishes it from many other markets: instead of being confined to a central square, it spreads throughout the historic town center. Festively and cozily designed courtyards along Strelitzer Straße and in the adjacent areas, as well as Schlossstraße, become venues.

Stalls, Shops, and Cultural Program

At the market stalls, visitors will find regional products and handmade gift ideas. The shops in the town center participate with Christmas promotions and extended opening hours, allowing market strolls and shopping to merge. A cultural program at various locations—from the town church to the art house and the cultural quarter—accompanies the weekend.

The Start of the Advent Season

Traditionally, the "Hofzauber" takes place on the Friday and Saturday before the first Advent. On Friday, the lovingly decorated courtyards along Strelitzer Straße are opened, and with the festive switching on of the Christmas lights and the appearance of Santa Claus, the town center is bathed in warm light. Saturday expands the event to numerous other locations.
