Weidenau Christmas Market 2026 — Four Weeks of Advent Magic

From November 24 to December 23, 2026, the Weidenau Christmas Market on the main market square at the Siegerlandzentrum will open daily from 12 PM. The market combines classic Christmas stalls with carousels, a curling rink, and a covered stage program — ideal for families seeking Advent atmosphere regardless of the weather.

Stalls and Specialties

Over the four market weeks, around 30 stalls will offer:

• Mulled wine, children's punch, hot apple punch
• Bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, candied almonds
• Gingerbread, cookies, stollen from the region
• Handicrafts: wood carvings, candles, jewelry, nativity figures
• Advent decorations and gift items

Stage Program — Daily Entertainment

A covered stage offers a colorful program for all ages:

• Punch and Judy shows for the little ones
• Juggling and acrobatic performances
• Christmas concerts by regional choirs and music groups
• Sing-along events for the whole family

Live music is performed in the white tent Pagodeon on Thursday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons.

Special Attractions for Children

Wichteldorf and Children's Railway

A child-friendly railway circles through the festively decorated Wichteldorf (Gnome Village) — one of the young visitors' favorite attractions. In addition, there are carousels, candy stalls, and occasional visits from St. Nicholas on Advent Sundays.

Curling Rink

The curling rink invites families and groups to try their hand at this icy sport of skill — a special feature of the Weidenau market that sets it apart from other Christmas markets in the Siegerland region.

Location and Getting There

The market is located at Hauptmarkt 1, 57076 Siegen-Weidenau, directly at the Siegerlandzentrum — the largest shopping center in the region. Advantage: free parking for the first hour in the Siegerlandzentrum's parking garage, then tiered fees. You can reach Weidenau train station in a few minutes' walk, and from there, bus lines R1 and R5 go directly to the market. Public transport connections are excellent — especially recommended on Advent Saturdays.

Weidenau, with around 19,000 inhabitants, is the most populous district of Siegen and home to the University of Siegen. The market attracts not only residents but also many students and visitors from the surrounding area — Netphen, Kreuztal, Freudenberg.
