Bismarckplatz is the central parking lot in the Siegen district of Weidenau, located directly at the Weidenau train station and the main market square. During Oktoberfest, the area is closed to vehicle traffic and equipped with the large festival tent and two smaller accompanying tents. Public transport connections are excellent: Weidenau station is 200m away — RB and RE lines from Siegen, Kreuztal, Netphen.
Coat Check and Services
- Seating: Staff will assign tables upon entry
- Coat check €2 per item
- ATM inside the festival tent
- Restrooms around the tent
- Recommendation: Public transport or taxi — due to beer consumption
Weidenau — the District with a University
Weidenau, with around 19,000 inhabitants, is the most populous district of Siegen and home to the University of Siegen. The mix of residents, students, and visitors from Siegerland (Kreuztal, Netphen, Freudenberg) makes the Oktoberfest one of the most important summer festivals in Siegerland. The tradition dates back to 2012 — the festival has been held annually at the end of September for over a decade.
