In the heart of the Uckermark: an open-air village festival with performances, games, and dancing
Wallmow is a typical Uckermark street village with just around 250 inhabitants. Once a year, on the first weekend in July, the entire village comes together—and with it, guests from the surrounding villages of Brüssow, Carmzow, and Schönfeld. The 2026 village festival will take place on Saturday, July 4, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 PM in the village center.
On the festival grounds in the middle of the village, local clubs and dance groups will perform, there will be games and activities for children, regional food and drinks, and live music and dancing from the evening onwards. It is a typical Brandenburg village festival, celebrated in most communities of the Uckermark district during the summer months—consciously without major commercial aspirations, with volunteer residents.
Wallmow belongs to the municipality of Carmzow-Wallmow, which is administered by the Amt Brüssow. The Uckermark district, with 3,058 square kilometers, is the largest district in the state of Brandenburg by area, but also one of the most sparsely populated. The charm of such village festivals lies precisely in this mix of wide-open country, small villages, and committed village communities.
Those arriving from outside can combine the village festival with an excursion to the nearby Brüssower Wald, Wolfshagen Castle, or the sights of Prenzlau (Marienkirche, Uckerseen). Accommodation in Wallmow itself is limited—holiday apartments are available in Brüssow, Carmzow, and Prenzlau.
The 2026 edition of the village festival in Wallmow runs from morning until late at night—for almost 14 hours, the village meets, along with guests from Brüssow, Carmzow, and the surrounding communities of the Uckermark. The day starts at 10:00 AM with setup and a morning pint, in the afternoon there will be activities for children and games, and from the evening onwards, the dance floor takes over.
On the stage in the village center, performances by regional clubs are planned; the exact order will be announced shortly before the festival. Food and drinks are organized by the festival committee and local clubs.
Detailed program will be published shortly before the festival date on the website of the Amt Brüssow.
Free admission. Food and drinks will be offered at usual festival prices.
Wallmow is located about 15 km northeast of Prenzlau and 110 km north of Berlin. By car via the A 11 (exit Schmölln) and then via the L 25. By train to Prenzlau, from there by bus to Brüssow and then by call bus or taxi (UVG bus line 459 between Brüssow and Wallmow).
