Over 110 Years of Waldfest Tradition
The Uettinger Waldfest is one of the most traditional village festivals in the western Würzburg district. It was first celebrated on July 17, 1910 – in the founding year of the organizing Verschönerungsverein Uettingen 1910 e.V. – and has taken place annually on the second weekend of July ever since. The venue is the idyllic festival grounds at Kirchberg in the north of the village.
Four Days of Festival in the Forest
The Waldfest spans four days, from Friday to Monday. It offers catering with regional dishes – traditionally Steckerlfisch on Sunday – cool drinks, and music and dancing. On Sunday, the day begins with an ecumenical church service on the Kirchberg; in the evening, the festival grounds transform into an atmospheric forest festival arena. Monday is Family Day with a program for children.
Supported by Club Life
The Verschönerungsverein Uettingen, one of the oldest clubs in the village, significantly shapes village life with the Waldfest. The festival finances the club's activities and is also a regular meeting point for locals and former Uettingen residents who return home for the Waldfest.
Uettingen in the Würzburg Region
Uettingen is located in the western Würzburg district in the Franconian wine region, not far from Marktheidenfeld and Würzburg. The location of the festival grounds in the forest at Kirchberg gives the Waldfest its special, nature-oriented atmosphere and makes it a popular summer excursion destination in the region.
Uettinger Waldfest — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Uettinger Waldfest will take place from Saturday, July 11, to Monday, July 13, 2026, on the festival grounds at Kirchberg – traditionally on the second weekend of July. The organizer is the Verschönerungsverein Uettingen 1910 e.V. Program: Saturday from the evening, festival operation with live music (including the Aalbachtaler), Sunday an ecumenical church service on the Kirchberg and in the afternoon and evening music and Steckerlfisch, Monday Family Day with a youth band. Admission is free. In 2026, the club will also celebrate a club anniversary with honors on the festival Sunday.

Getting There
Uettingen is located in the Würzburg district, accessible via the A3 motorway (exit Helmstadt) and state roads towards Würzburg/Marktheidenfeld. The festival grounds are located at Kirchberg in the north of the village.
