Four-day club anniversary with marquee, parade, and family day
The Faschingsclub Helmstadt e.V. (FCH), founded in 1960, is an institution in the club life of the market town of Helmstadt in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg. Originally founded as a carnival club, the FCH has developed into a versatile club over the past decades, shaping village life beyond the carnival season. The annual anniversary festival celebrates the founding date and is one of the important club events of the year.
The number 66 has a special meaning in Franconian carnival (Fasching) — it's the number that leads to victory in the card game "Schnapsen" and is often quoted in carnival songs ("Drei Mal hopp, drei Mal hopp, drei Mal hoch das Bein, hoch das Bein, sechsundsechzig!“). The fact that the anniversary falls exactly on the number 66 gives the 2026 festival a special humorous charm — the club celebrates this number with a wink.
The anniversary festival spans four days — from Friday to Monday. A large marquee will be set up at the Helmstadt festival grounds, where the entire program will take place. A mix of modern party formats, traditional oompah music, a parade, and family entertainment.
The kick-off on Friday, May 15th, 2026, starting at 7 PM, is a true party for all generations: 90s and 2000s hits with DJ Alex Mader. Free entry until 8:30 PM — admission fee applies afterwards. An idea that makes this anniversary particularly attractive for the middle generation.
On Saturday, May 16th, 2026, starting at 6 PM, "Rosi" takes over the festival marquee stage — Franconian party music at its finest. Discounted entry until 7:30 PM. This is the stage for the beer benches, the swaying crowds, the dancing couples.
Sunday, May 17th, 2026, brings the traditional anniversary program. Festival service at 9 AM in St. Martin's Parish Church, followed by a musical procession with local musicians. Lunch from 11:30 AM in the marquee. The absolute highlight: the grand parade starting at 1:30 PM, with friendly clubs, carnival and traditional costume groups from the Main Franconia region, brass bands, and festively decorated floats through Helmstadt.
The festival concludes on Monday, May 18th, 2026, starting at 3 PM with the Children's and Seniors' Afternoon — games and fun for the little ones, coffee and cake for the elders. From 4 PM, the Day of Businesses follows, where Helmstadt companies support the club and the festival.
Helmstadt is a market town in the western district of Würzburg, at the transition from Main Franconia to the Spessart foothills. With around 2,700 inhabitants, the town thrives on active club life — the Faschingsclub is one of the most important players. The anniversary festival is not just a club celebration, but a village community event that brings the entire community together.
The Faschingsclub Helmstadt e.V. celebrates its 66th anniversary festival from May 15th to 18th, 2026, at the Helmstadt festival grounds. Four days of festivities in the large marquee, with a program that appeals to all generations: 90s party for the middle generation, music evening for the festival marquee classics, parade for the entire village community, family program to conclude the festivities.
The highlight is the festival Sunday with a service at 9 AM in St. Martin's, followed by a procession of local musicians and the grand parade starting at 1:30 PM through Helmstadt — with carnival, traditional costume, and music clubs from the Main Franconia region.
