Schützenverein Meinersen von 1853

Founded in 1853, the Schützenverein Meinersen is one of the oldest clubs in the community. Over 170 years of club history are connected with countless shooting festivals, kings, and queens. The annual Schützenfest is the highlight of the club year and one of the most important dates in the Meinersen event calendar.

Festival Tent Under the Oaks

The venue has its own name: Under the Oaks. The festival tent is set up under the old oak trees on the Schützenplatz – a shady, atmospheric backdrop that many festival-goers remember. The explicit mention of the tent being set up under the oaks in local reporting shows how identity-forming this place is for the people of Meinersen.

Opening on Friday, June 17th

The festival opens at 4 PM on Friday. Afterwards, the marksmen will march in, the first shooting competitions will take place, and the festival tent will be prepared for the evening. From 9 PM, Kröger Events takes over with a tent disco – modern sound, professional light show, dance floor until late into the night.

King's Hunt 2026

The king's hunt for 2026 is open: both the king's title and the queen's dignity will be determined in competition. This equal dual structure is an expression of modern club leadership and ensures the participation of both female and male marksmen. The proclamation is one of the emotional highlights of the festival.
