Neukirchen-Vluyn — The Lower Rhine Twin Municipality
Neukirchen-Vluyn is a town in the Wesel district with approximately 27,000 inhabitants — formed in 1969 by the merger of the formerly independent towns of Neukirchen and Vluyn. Both districts have retained their own identities today — Vluyn with its historic village center, Neukirchen with a more modern district character. The Vluyner Mai is the most important identity event for the Vluyn district.
